If you’ve just experienced the allure of Barbie on the big screen and suddenly find yourself yearning for those iconic Barbie nails, rest assured you’re not alone in this sentiment. You’re in good company—myself included—alongside a multitude of others who’ve succumbed to the same irresistible pull.
How do I ascertain this? Well, apart from my role as a beauty editor, I conducted an Instagram story, inviting followers to showcase their Barbie-inspired nail creations, expecting only a few submissions from the nail artists I’m acquainted with. Yet, when I revisited my inbox hours later, I was greeted by an inundation of direct messages from a diverse array of women, spanning various ages and locations, all brimming with excitement to share their interpretations. The response was so overwhelming that I couldn’t possibly keep up, let alone incorporate each entry into this gallery. The sheer volume was awe-inspiring and heartwarming, to say the least.
Nail experts are certainly attuned to this phenomenon. Nail artist Hannah Mankin reveals to Glamour, “Barbie-inspired manicures are a blazing trend this summer.” While pale pinks have historically held their appeal, there’s been a noticeable surge in demands for an array of pink shades. Ranging from delicate, velvety baby pinks like Dazzle Dry’s Warm Affection, to vivacious, sunlit pinks like Raspberry Crème, and even more profound raspberry tones akin to The Duchess, the spectrum of pink is flourishing.
